I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Kentucky. I specialize in epistemology. 

My current research project focuses on epistemic norms that govern interrogative attitudes—norms for wondering well. I'm especially interested in how the semantic notion of soundness (roughly, the property questions have when they admit a true, direct answer) can be put to work in epistemology. I've also published work on assertion, ignorance, infallibilism, trust, and in the philosophy of religion.

After an MPhil at Oxford, I finished my PhD in philosophy at Rutgers (2021) with Ernie Sosa. My postdoc was at the COGITO Epistemology Research Centre at the University of Glasgow. 

Recent papers of mine have been published in The Journal of Philosophy, Philosophy & Phenomenological Research, MIND, and Philosophical Quarterly. Tim Kearl and I won the 2024 Young Epistemologist Prize for our paper "Epistemic cans."
